A message from Superintendent of Schools, Dr Matthew Evans:
Dear Monticello School Community Member,
Our voters have approved our latest budget proposal for 2020–21. This approval will allow us to
- Continue all programs offered in the previous school year,
- Purchase new equipment for driver’s education, technology, student transportation, and plant maintenance, and
- Permit community organizations’ usage of our facilities and grounds.
All of these will be carried out according to coronavirus prevention and school reopening guidelines recently published by the New York State Department of Health and New York State Education Department.
While we are still working out logistics for a modified school opening in September, this budget also contains some resources to support implementation of these guidelines. We will know more about the need for additional resources as we finalize details, and put the guidelines—daily screenings, temperature checks, and social distancing, for example—into practice.
On behalf of the Board of Education and staff of the Monticello Central School District, I thank all community members who voted on July 28, and look forward to our continued partnerships in the future.
I hope all of you are well, and please enjoy your summer.
