Skiers participating in the state championships at Gore earlier this week 
endured some pretty extreme condition. On Monday, there were 50 mile-per-hour winds and light snow. On Tuesday, the temperature dropped with a high of 5 degrees. Still, Monticello’s Alpine ski teams persevered and were successful. Shane Bittinger placed 8th in the slalom event. Overall, the Monticello girls’ team placed fifth while the boys placed sixth. Great job to our Monti skiers!
