Second-grade students at the George L. Cooke Elementary School celebrated holidays around the world without even leaving the building. First they learned the basics of traveling, such as what a passport is, and how to apply for one. Students then filled out their own passport, and “traveled” to Mexico, Italy and China, where they learned about the local holiday customs and sampled some traditional snacks.
The students had a blast on their travels. Here are some photos of Ms. Castillo’s class enjoying the activity.
