Congratulations to the Nordic Ski Team as they traveled to Lapland Lake in Northville NY last Tuesday to compete in the Section 9 Nordic Ski Championship.
In the girls race a 7.5 kilometer skate, Kaitlyn Morse placed 7th and Abby Morse placed 10th.
In the boys race a 10 kilometer skate, Owen Bassett placed 6th and Evan Waterton placed 1st. This is the first time in more than 20 years that a Nordic Skier from Monticello has won the Section 9 Championship.
Evan and Owen will now compete in the State Championships located at the Gore Mountain Nordic Ski Center in North Creek NY on Monday Feb. 28 and Tuesday March 1.
