A feast for all

Dec. 11, 2017

Jessica Ashcraft and Megan Hobby’s kindergarten class at Cooke Elementary School was excited to be learning about their community and community helpers. They chose to invite first responders to their Thanksgiving celebration as a way to say “thank you” for all they do.

Kindergarten students, their teachers and first responders poseFirefighters, police officers and EMS personnel came to this Cooke kindergarten class’s “First Responder Feast,” a luncheon on Nov. 21. In addition to the delicious lunch, the children also made cards for their guests.

It was an opportunity to bring Sullivan County’s finest into the classroom. And they hope to do it again.
