Musical May: student musicians captivate audiences during spring concert season

Songs of spring were in the air as student musicians from Robert J. Kaiser Middle School and Monticello High School held their annual spring concerts throughout May. Various musical groups showcased their talent for enthusiastic audiences filled with family, friends, faculty and community members.

The series of shows kicked off on Monday, May 7 with part one of the MHS Spring Concert, which featured performances from soloists and small group ensembles. Audiences returned the following night to experience part two, with performances by concert band, concert choir and orchestra. The show also included a special symphony collaboration between orchestra and concert band students.

Sixth graders from RJK Middle School were next to take the stage, debuting the grade’s concert band, concert choir and orchestra on Monday, May 13. Seventh and eighth grade students performed the subsequent evening, with the addition of the RJK Middle School jazz band.
