Students in Mrs. Kilcoin’s class were excited to do a pumpkin activity that was a science experiment. The students observed the pumpkin, drew a diagram of the pumpkin, weighed the pumpkin and measured the height in inches. They then made predictions about the amount of seeds in the pumpkin. After Mrs. Kilcoin cut it open, each student then observed the inside of the pumpkin and drew a diagram of the inside. Mrs. Kilcoin then went around and put a gob of pumpkin pulp and seeds on each student’s desk and the students then explored and discussed the parts of a pumpkin. They were able to take home some pulp and seeds if they wanted to cook them with their families.
