The George L. Cooke Elementary School held a “Guitar Exhibition” on Friday, Nov. 17.
Students from Monticello High School visited the school to teach the second-grade students about the history of the guitar, and also the differences between instruments in the guitar family (electric and acoustic guitar; baritone, soprano and concert ukulele; banjo, mandolin and bass). The high schoolers also treated the younger students to a guitar performance. It was a great way to get the students thinking about what their musical future might look like when they get to high school.
