The 2024 SCMEA All County Festival was a resounding success for the music students of MCSD! The festival, which took place at Tri-Valley CSD, included the county’s top music students across elementary, middle and high schools.
After two full days of rehearsals with prominent guest conductors and educators, each group took the stage to perform for enthusiastic audiences of parents, friends, and community members. Monticello students were involved in each of the groups, which included Elementary Chorus, Middle School Band, Junior High Jazz Band, Junior High Treble Chorus, Junior High Mixed Chorus, Senior High Band and Senior High Orchestra.
Senior violinist and Orchestra concertmaster Chelsea Walz reflected on her final All County experience, saying “I honestly really enjoyed this weekend. The conductor was amazing, the music was super fun to learn, and it was a wonderful experience to have with my friends. If I could go back and do it all again, I would!”
