Important information and dates for the class of 2024

Dear Parents/ Guardians and Seniors:

This year has gone by very quickly. In three weeks, the Class of 2024 will be receiving their diplomas and starting a new chapter of their lives. Here is a list of upcoming dates:

  • June 6, 10, and 12 Senior Catch Up from 2:30 – 5:00 pm in room 322
  • June 10 – 13   Students can return their devices to the library if they no longer need them for classes or final exams. If Seniors still need their device past this date, they must return them to the library the day of their last exam. 
  • June 13:
    Caps and gowns given to Seniors (Seniors buying gowns need to pay $56)
    Senior Parade through buildings,
    Seniors report to auditorium at 7:45 AM
    Lunch provided for seniors
    Blue and White Ceremony in Auditorium, seniors will wear gowns (no sash, cap, or tassel for Blue and White)
  • June 18 Senior Honors Night – 6:30 PM- HS Auditorium: Students receiving awards will be notified approximately one week prior to the event. Families are encouraged to attend. Students should dress accordingly.
  • June 21 10:30 AM- MANDATORY Graduation Rehearsal at the high school in the auditorium.
    Graduation tickets will be given out (6 per student).
    • Senior lunch directly after rehearsal in the high school cafeteria.
    • Senior mural will be signed.
  • June 26 Graduation
    • The Class of 2024 Graduation begins at 7:00 PM at the Monticello Central
    School Campus behind the Middle School.
    • All graduating seniors MUST BE in the Middle School gymnasium by
    6:30 pm in their academic garb (gown, cap, tassel, and sash).
    • Seating will be provided for guests.
    • Ceremony will be livestreamed with link on district website.
    • For individuals who prefer to be inside, RJK cafeteria will be available.
    Guests must have a ticket.
    • If the ceremony must be moved indoors due to inclement weather, it will still
    begin at 7 PM. Due to limited space, 4 tickets will be for the auditorium
    and 2 tickets for the MHS cafeteria.
    • Student diplomas will not be included in the diploma case received during
    the graduation ceremony. Students will receive their diploma after the
    ceremony has concluded in the RJK gymnasium. This will help with the
    flow of ceremony.

Parking for Graduation
• Application for handicapped parking available in MHS main office.
• Complete all information on document and provide a photo or a copy of the state-issued
handicap tag with individual’s name.
• Applications are due to MHS main office by June 17 at 3:00 pm
• Guests MUST HAVE a valid MHS handicap pass to park in reserved spots.
• Shuttle buses will be available as well. Please cooperate with staff who are assisting with
parking for graduation.
• MHS handicap passes will be distributed at the graduation rehearsal
Ceremony Etiquette
• No umbrellas nor balloons will be allowed to ensure unobstructed views for all guests.
• No open bottles will be permitted. Sealed water or soda bottles are allowed.
• Class of 2025 will be selling bottled water.
• No backpacks will be permitted.

Senior Graduation Signs
If Seniors have not yet picked up their graduation signs, they may stop by the MHS office at the end of their school day. Seniors who do not pick up their signs prior to June 13 will receive their signs prior to the Blue and White Ceremony.

IF GRADUATION MUST BE MOVED INDOORS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED ON THE SCHOOL WEB SITE AND A PARENT SQUARE WILL BE SENT OUT BY 3 PM ON THE AFTERNOON OF JUNE 26.
