The Monticello Central School District has been approved to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act (formerly the National School Lunch/Breakfast Program). This means that all students in all buildings, and those learning remotely, will receive free breakfast and lunch regardless of income. The district is excited to provide this opportunity for all our students. As with many programs we must comply with certain rules in order to remain eligible and we need your help.
School districts are eligible to apply for a number of grants and alternate funding opportunities that help to provide additional programs at no cost to the taxpayers, such as our pre-kindergarten, internet/phone services, and iPads, along with many others. Many of the state and federal government grant programs require information on the poverty index of the school district. The income proxy form helps us to determine our eligibility for grants.
We are asking parents and guardians to complete this form, regardless of household income, and return it to your child(ren’s) school by mail no later than September 8, 2020. This is NOT an application for Free/Reduced price meals. Those forms are no longer needed. This is a confidential form that will allow us to determine a district-wide poverty percent only. We are mailing a copy of this form home to MCSD families that needs to complete one. You may also print a copy of the form.
Our goal is 100% return rate of this form so our percent can be as accurate as possible. Thank you for helping the Monticello Central School District maximize our grant potential.
