Five MHS students perform at Area All State Music Festival

Five Monticello High School student musicians participated in the 2025 Zone 9 Area All State Music Festival on Nov. 21 and 22 at Cornwall High School. Students were accepted to these distinguished performing ensembles based on their exceptional NYSSMA Solo Festival performances last spring.  The students most notably enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate at a high level with other like-minded music students, and each said the experience …

Message from Superintendent Evans re: events at high school and early dismissal

Dear Monticello Community Members,  This morning, a heating unit had an electrical malfunction that triggered smoke alarms in Monticello High School.  The unit was on the roof, above the fitness center of the high school.  This happened at approximately 7 a.m., while students and staff were entering the school. Students on site were immediately evacuated to the Robert J. Winter Concert Schedule

Students at G.L. Cooke Elementary School are getting ready for Thanksgiving!

Students at G.L. Cooke Elementary School are getting ready for Thanksgiving! The day began with the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Balloon Parade. Each student from Mrs. Liebman, Miss McCormick, Mrs. Somers, and Miss VanHorn’s classes created a special Thanksgiving balloon and proudly paraded through the hallways.
