As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, the Monticello Central School District is implementing new security measures for visitors to the Monticello High School and Robert J. Kaiser Middle School. Beginning Dec. 1, all visitors and their belongings will be screened using walk-through and/or hand-held metal detectors by a MCSD security team member of the same sex. These new security measures will be in place during regular school hours, as well as after-school events.
With the holiday season bringing many visitors out to our buildings for concerts, performances and other activities, we encourage our community to arrive early for events and to leave any unnecessary bags or other belongings in their car to help expedite the screening process.
Our top priority is always the safety of our students, staff and community, and the implementation of these new measures adds another layer of safety to our comprehensive security plan. For more information, please review appendix B of the district’s Code of Conduct, and reach out to the school your child attends should you have additional questions.
