Students in the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) program participated in New York City’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Fair on Saturday, Nov. 16. This opportunity was open to all juniors and seniors. More than 1,000 students throughout the state participated in this event.
One of our participants was offered admittance on the spot. The students were able to engage the admissions departments of more than 40 higher education institutions, which helped them understand what colleges are looking for. They were also able to have a simulated college experience with a marching band and a panel of recent graduates sharing their experience.
