Due to an ongoing law enforcement investigation, Monticello High School, Robert J. Kaiser Middle School, and Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School will remain in a lockout through the end of the school day, and there will be no after-school activities today, October 28, at these three buildings. After-school activities at the Emma C. Chase Elementary School and George L. Cooke Elementary School will run as scheduled.
The Healthy Kids program will continue at all elementary schools, including Rutherford.
The district’s top priority is always the safety of its students and staff. The lockout and cancellation of after-school activities are being enacted after conferring with law enforcement and out of an abundance of caution. During a lockout, no unscheduled visitors may enter the school, and there are no outdoor activities. Inside the school, students and staff continue to move from class to class as they would on a typical school day.
