74 special education teachers and related-service providers received specialized training to ensure all special education students are progressing towards their IEP goals during the Superintendent’s Conference Day on Friday, March 15.

Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center Special Education Specialists Samantha Veaz and Shawne Cheatham led the presentation, which focused on using the Progress Monitoring methodology to create charts that define student progress, and determine whether students are benefitting from their current instruction. The tool also enables educators to develop more effective programing for students who are not responding adequately, using data-based metrics.

On-going professional development such as this helps ensure that our educators have the tools they need to help all students succeed.
