On Friday, Nov. 3, several Monticello High School musicians had the honor of performing during the Hall of Distinction ceremony. The event, which honored MCSD Alumni Ralph Breakey, Julian Dawson, Shirley Hornbeck and Antoinette Williams, began with performances from the Emerging Ensembles Jazz Quartet & String Duo. Each group performed delightful prelude music while guests entered. The MHS Chamber Singers commenced the proceedings with a beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, as well as the Monticello Alma Mater. Later in the ceremony, the Emerging Ensembles Wind quartet and vocalist Morris Germann each performed as an interlude in the event’s program. The MHS Performing Arts students are always eager for the opportunity to perform at school and community events.
