New York was calling members of Monticello High School’s Chamber Choir and Music History course, who recently traveled to the Big Apple to attend the Metropolitan Opera’s season premiere of Puccinni’s “La Boheme.”
Students planned the trip themselves, excited to hear and see one of the most classic and well-known operas under the bright lights of New York City.
The production showcased world-class musicians and performers alongside the historical developments of the opera genre.
Student Kaitlyn Weiss commented on the event, saying “Going to the opera with people from our music department was especially exciting because everyone appreciated the music that was being performed and the historical background of the genre. The performance itself was superb, the storyline still being relevant today.”
