Congratulations to all of the poets who represented the Robert J. Kaiser Middle School at the Sullivan County Poetry Festival on April 15 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. The festival, now in its second year, features poetry and other artwork submitted by students in grades 7-12 in Sullivan County.
Robert J. Kaiser Middle School students Malayah Merchant, Jayvion Slater-Egan, Araceli Gonzalez, and Jenn Degraw all attended the festival and represented RJK Middle School with a reading of their poems. Jenn Degraw won first place across Sullivan County in the seventh and eighth-grade category with her poem “Childhood & Innocence.” Gina Santos won an honorable mention with her poem “The Villian.”
All the poets who attended and submitted should be proud of their efforts,” RJK teacher Angela Braselmann said.
