At Monticello High School, we are excited to be able to have more events for our students this year! Given the fluid nature of COVID-related requirements and mitigation protocols, and the availability of venues in our area, we have had to be flexible with the dates and details as we attempt to maximize our access and availability to our students. Below is the current information related to our Seniors. Please keep an eye on our updates online, via our website, and through ParentSquare (please register for a ParentSquare account if you have not already done so), to help stay up to date. In addition, your student(s) receive updated information through our Microsoft Teams platform. We have an “MHS Announcements” page and each Class has a page to keep the students informed.
Graduation Specific Information
Graduation will be held on the Monticello High School/Middle School campus on June 26th. It will be outdoors, weather permitting, and indoors in the case of inclement weather. There will be one ceremony, so that all the students will graduate together and be able to share this momentous occasion. While the exact number of tickets per student is yet to be determined, please know that we are doing our very best to give each graduate the maximum number of tickets that the space will allow. Guests will need to pre-register, as per COVID-19 guidelines. Information regarding guest registration will be forthcoming, once the number of tickets per graduate is determined.
Caps and gowns are ordered. By now, students were to have submitted their height and weight so that caps and gowns could be ordered. Those students who have not yet ordered should submit that information to Mrs. Alvarez (kalvarez@k12mcsd.net) or Mrs. Manz (smanz@k12mcsd.net) immediately. Students have the option of paying for their gown ($55) and keeping it or borrowing a gown and returning it at no charge, courtesy of our district. All students will keep their cap, tassel, and Class of 2022 sash. Distribution of academic garb will take place in early June (students and parents will be notified of exact dates for distribution). Payment, for those students purchasing their gown, will be due at the time of pick up. For another year, each senior will be given a Class of 2022 lawn sign, courtesy of our district, when they pick up their cap and gown.
Graduation rehearsal is being moved from Friday, June 24 to Thursday, June 23 at 11:30 am. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the high school for rehearsal.
