On Monday, May 24, the Monticello Central School District was informed that a student at the Robert J. Kaiser Middle School tested positive for COVID-19. The student was determined to have been in contact with three other students and one staff member, who we believe will most likely be quarantined through Friday, May 28.
The district has reported those identified as possible contacts to Sullivan County PHS. After conferring with Sullivan County Public Health Services, Robert J. Kaiser will continue to operate as scheduled, due to the limited number of potential exposures.
All areas of the school have been cleaned and disinfected, repeatedly, since Friday, and we’ll continue to clean and disinfect these areas consistent with our COVID-19 protocols.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and contact your health care provider. For more information on contact tracing and illness management, please review the New York State Department of Health’s Pre-K to Grade 12 COVID-19 Toolkit.
