Dear Monticello CSD Community Member,
Earlier today, we were informed that an individual associated with the Monticello boys’ basketball team tested positive for COVID-19. This individual does not regularly report to school but was last in contact with the team(s) on February 17. Our administrators are presently completing contact tracing, and we have reported this to Sullivan County Public Health Services (SCPHS). Once we’ve completed contact tracing, we will notify those identified and send the list to SCPHS.
Given the number of potential identified contacts we are temporarily suspending the boys’ basketball program. We will confer with SCPHS and follow their guidance prior to resuming the program.
All areas of the school have been disinfected since February 17, and we’ll continue to disinfect these areas consistent with our COVID-19 protocols.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your health care provider. For more information on contact tracing and illness management, please review the New York State Department of Health’s Pre-K to Grade 12 COVID-19 Toolkit.
We hope that all of you remain healthy, or, if sick, recover soon. Stay well.
With Monti Pride,
Matthew T. Evans, Ed. D. Superintendent of Schools
