Dear Monticello CSD Community Member,
We have been informed that a staff member at Emma C. Chase Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19 on February 8, 2021. This staff member was last at work on that same day (February 8) and was in contact with 15 students and staff who, we believe, will most likely be quarantined.
After conferring with Sullivan County Public Health Services and based upon the number of staff affected by this quarantine, Chase ES will continue on remote instruction through February 18, 2021. There will be no student instruction on February 12 as it is a superintendent’s conference day, and school is closed on February 15 for Presidents Day.
Chase ES students will tentatively return to in-person instruction on Friday, February 19.
All areas of the school have been disinfected since February 8, and we’ll continue to disinfect these areas consistent with our COVID-19 protocols.
All other MCSD schools will be open for in-person instruction.
We have reported those identified as possible contacts to Sullivan County PHS. We have also contacted all who have been tentatively identified as contacts of their exposure.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your health care provider. For more information on contact tracing and illness management, please review the New York State Department of Health’s Pre-K to Grade 12 COVID-19 Toolkit.
We hope that all of you remain healthy, or, if sick, recover soon. Stay well.
With Monti Pride,

Este miembro del personal estuvo en el trabajo por última vez ese mismo día (8 de febrero) y estuvo en contacto con 15 estudiantes y personal que, creemos, probablemente será puesto en cuarentena.
