A Message from Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Matthew Evans:
Dear Monticello CSD Community Member,
This is an important update to a posting of earlier today. We have been informed that the two students at Emma C. Chase Elementary School who tested positive for COVID-19 were last in school on February 4, 2021, and that they were symptomatic at that time. They were determined to have been in contact with 26 students and staff who, we believe, will most likely be quarantined.
After conferring with Sullivan County Public Health Services and based upon the number of staff affected by this quarantine, Chase ES will switch to remote instruction for February 9–11, 2021. There will be no student instruction on February 12 as it is a superintendent’s conference day, and school is closed on February 15 for Presidents Day.
Chase ES students will tentatively return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, February 16.
All areas of the school have been disinfected daily since February 4, and we’ll continue to disinfect these areas consistent with our COVID-19 protocols. All other MCSD schools will be open for in-person instruction. We have reported those identified as possible contacts to Sullivan County PHS. We have also contacted all who have been tentatively identified as contacts of their exposure.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your health care provider. Esta es una actualización importante de una publicación de hoy. Se nos ha informado que los dos estudiantes de la Escuela Elementar Emma C. Chase que dieron positivo en la prueba de COVID-19 fueron los últimos en la escuela el 4 de febrero de 2021 y que en ese momento tenían síntomas.
