Emma C. Chase Elementary School students in Ms. Andersen and Ms. Oakley’s class have been working on a unit about government. On Monday, Nov. 16, Senator Jen Metzger joined nearly 40 third-grade students on a Zoom call. After introducing herself, she gave the students an overview of a senator’s responsibilities, the process of making a law and the importance of voting. Students then took turns asking the Senator questions ranging from her favorite part of the job to the pathway to becoming a senator.
