Arrival and Dismissal procedures for both the middle and high school is located on the MCSD website

• All students are required to wear a face mask, covering both their nose and mouth, at all times. This includes while riding a MCSD school bus.    
• Students may bring a backpack to carry the MCSD iPad and charger. Student belongings will be left in HOMEBASE during the day.
• There will be multiple entry points for our students. Security personal, faculty, and administrators will be present at all entry points.
• Drop off students will enter the middle school through the high school.   Bus students and walkers will be directed to one of two entry points in the front of the middle school.
• Following the temperature check and health screening students will pick up their “grab and go” breakfast and proceed to their HOMEBASE/HOMEROOM. Eating and drinking is only permitted in their assigned classroom. 
• Any student who has a temperature of 100F will be brought to the isolation room that is in room 3. The RJK nurse will assess the student and contact parent/ guardian.  It is very important to update all contact information; at device pickup staff will request that parents/guardian update all information.
• When students arrive at their assign HOMEBASE, they will be expected to use hand sanitizer and sit at their assigned desk. During HOMEBASE teachers will take a lunch count.  Selections will include a hot entrée, sandwich, and a chef salad. 
• Standard school supplies in a mesh bag will be handed out and remain in the HOMEBASE. Pencils, pens, ruler, glue stick, and crayons.    Student’s name and cohort will be written on the outside of the bag and remain in the classroom for cleaning daily. 
• TEAM Teachers (math, science, English, and social studies) will rotate to each HOMEBASE. Home and Careers and General Music teachers will also visit HOMEBASE. 
• Students will leave the classroom for STEAM6, Art, Music lessons and Physical Education classes.
• Bathroom and mask breaks will be scheduled for each HOMEBASE.
• All students should wear their sneakers to school on days they have physical education scheduled. All 8^th grade students will have Physical Education on both days. 
• If your child plays an instrument they will need to bring to school and leave in HOMEBASE until their scheduled lesson.

Robert J. Kaiser Middle School Attendance Procedures

Unlike this past spring, New York State schools are required to submit both daily and course attendance this year. Teachers will show both hybrid and remote students how to submit daily attendance on the first day. 

Daily Attendance:  HOMEBASE teachers will be using MICROSOFT Forms to take daily attendance.  Students will have until 10pm to go on and complete the daily MICROSOFT Forms.  It must be submitted each day to get credit.  If your child is absent from in-person instruction, they will be able to get credit for the day by filling out the MICROSOFT Form and by completing their course work.  

Course Attendance:  NYS requires school district to provide a minimum of 180 minutes/week in the following courses: math, science, English, social studies, and 8th grade Spanish.  All other courses require a minimum 90 minutes/week.  If your child attends both in person classes, they will earn 120 minutes towards the 180 minutes.  Over the remaining three days students must complete another 60 minutes.  Teachers will be keeping track of how much time student’s work on assignments using MICROSOFT Insight and completion of assignments.    Teachers will include time that they worked with your child during office hours.  All work for the week must be completed by Sunday @ 5pm.  Encourage your child to use Sunday night to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.  Completion of schoolwork does not guarantee that your child will receive a passing grade in the course.  Quality of work submitted determines overall grade on an assignment.

• Se requiere que todos los estudiantes usen una mascarilla que cubra la nariz y la boca en todo momento. Esto incluye mientras viaja en un autobús escolar del DECM.
• Los estudiantes pueden traer una mochila para llevar el iPad y el cargador del DECM.. Las pertenencias de los estudiantes se dejarán en el SALON HOGAR durante el día.
• Habrá múltiples puntos de entrada para nuestros estudiantes. El personal de seguridad, los profesores y los administradores estarán presentes en todos los puntos de entrada.
• Los estudiantes que dejen entrarán a la escuela intermedia a través de la escuela secundaria. Los estudiantes de autobús y los caminantes serán dirigidos a uno de los dos puntos de entrada al frente de la escuela intermedia.
• Después del control de temperatura y el examen de salud, los estudiantes recogerán su desayuno “para llevar” y se dirigirán a su SALON HOGAR. Solo se permite comer y beber en su salón de clases asignado.
• Cualquier estudiante que tenga una temperatura de 100F será llevado a la sala de aislamiento que está en el salón 3. La enfermera de RJK evaluará al estudiante y se comunicará con el padre / tutor. Es muy importante actualizar toda la información de contacto; al retirar el dispositivo, el personal solicitará que los padres / tutores actualicen toda la información.
• Cuando los estudiantes lleguen a su SALON HOGAR asignado, se espera que usen desinfectante de manos y se sienten en su escritorio asignado. Durante el SALON HOGAR, los maestros tomaran la orden de almuerzo. Las selecciones incluirán un plato principal caliente, un sándwich y una ensalada del chef.
• Los útiles escolares estándar en una bolsa de malla se entregarán y permanecerán en el SALON HOGAR. Lápices, bolígrafos, regla, barra de pegamento y crayones. El nombre y el grupo del estudiante se escribirán en el exterior de la bolsa y permanecerán en el salón de clases para la limpieza diaria.
• Los maestros de EQUIPOS (matemáticas, ciencias, inglés y estudios sociales) rotarán a cada SALON HOGAR. Los maestros de Economía Doméstica y Música General también visitarán el SALON HOGAR.
• Los estudiantes saldrán del salón para STEAM6, clases de arte, música y clases de educación física.
• Se programarán descansos para el baño y la mascarilla para cada SALON HOGAR.
• Todos los estudiantes deben usar sus zapatillas de deporte para ir a la escuela los días que tienen programada educación física. Todos los estudiantes de octavo grado tendrán Educación Física ambos días.
• Si su hijo toca un instrumento, deberá traerlo a la escuela y dejarlo en el SALON HOGAR hasta la lección programada.

Procedimientos de Asistencia a la Escuela Intermedia Robert J. Kaiser

A diferencia de la primavera pasada, las escuelas del estado de Nueva York deben presentar tanto la asistencia diaria como la asistencia a los cursos de este año. Los maestros mostrarán a los estudiantes presenciales y remotos cómo enviar la asistencia diaria el primer día.

Asistencia Diaria:  Los maestros del SALON HOGAR usarán los formularios MICROSOFT para tomar la asistencia diaria. Los estudiantes tendrán hasta las 10 pm para continuar y completar los formularios MICROSOFT diarios. Debe enviarse todos los días para obtener crédito. Si su hijo no asiste a la instrucción en persona, podrá obtener crédito por el día completando el formulario MICROSOFT y completando el trabajo del curso.   

 

Asistencia al Curso: NYS requiere que el distrito escolar proporcione un mínimo de 180 minutos por semana en los siguientes cursos: matemáticas, ciencias, inglés, estudios sociales y español de octavo grado. Todos los demás cursos requieren un mínimo de 90 minutos a la semana. Si su hijo asiste a ambas clases en persona, ganará 120 minutos para los 180 minutos.
