Cooke is sharing the warmth

Nov. 30, 2017

Cooke student council kids hold the socks they collected for homelessEvery night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets.

The George L. Cooke Student Council wanted to prove that even the smallest acts of love, something as simple as donating a pair of socks, can make a difference in the lives of our homeless neighbors.

For the entire month of October, the student council collected new socks. They even renamed the month to “Socktober.” Afterwards, they donated the 120 pairs of socks collected to a local homeless shelter. It is their way of helping to share the warmth.

Members of the student council thank everyone who donated the new socks to meet their goal.
