Written by AOF member Sarah Rustic

The Monticello High School Academy of Finance is offering free tax preparation for anyone who earned $54,000 or less in 2016. Tax services are held in Monticello High School at 39 Breakey Avenue. The services are provided by Academy of Finance senior students and are supervised by Susan Bahrenburg, CPA, and Eric Shewmaker. Mrs. Bahrenburg has twenty-five years’ experience as a Certified Public Accountant and Mr. Shewmaker has over ten years’ experience preparing income tax returns. Tax return preparation is by appointment only and ends April 6, 2017.

All student tax preparers are IRS certified. After a student completes your return, Mrs. Bahrenburg or Mr. Shewmaker will conduct a quality review of student work in order to verify its accuracy before e-filing. The Monticello Academy of Finance appreciates the opportunity to provide the community with this valuable service. For more information, or to schedule your appointment, please call (845) 794-8840 ext. 10849.
