Cooke goes pink for breast cancer

Oct. 19, 2016Students and staff wore pink Oct. 14 to honor breast cancer awareness

On Oct. 14, the faculty and staff of the George L. Cooke Elementary School participated in Lee National Denim Day.  With at least a $5 donation, faculty and staff were able wear denim and pink for the day and got a breast cancer awareness button. We had a bountiful breakfast that featured a lot of pink food!  Even some of the students showed off their pink, from wearing everything from pink sneakers to pink bows. Over $265 dollars were raised. Proceeds will help to fund essentials like breast screenings, travel costs for patients, and toward funding a new cancer research center.
