There are great things happening at Kenneth L. Rutherford this year.
The school now has a full time Social Emotional Wellness Facilitator, Lynn Selkirk. She will be working in all classes grades K-5, assisting students and helping staff maintain a positive balance with their workload, stress and feelings.
When staff and teachers introduce the program’s concept to each class family, “social” is described as the actions and behaviors we see people do; it's the information people give about themselves on the "outside" of their bodies; “emotional” is described as feelings that we have on the "inside" of our bodies; and “wellness” is the balance that we try to keep between our feeling and behaviors.
The school is excited to see its students flourish not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.
