High School
The following position is effective immediately:

  • Homebound Instructors - District-wide
    Requirements: NY State Certification
     
  • Student Support Specialist - District-wide
    Requirements: Civil Service Exam
    This position involves responsibility for providing student services in support of the overall academic goals and objectives of an educational institution to youth at risk through case management, advocacy and referral. This is a full-time, 12 month position with 37.5 hours per week. The Civil service exam for this position will be given on March 7, 2009. Applications will be accepted by Civil Service no later than March 4. The Civil Service application and $10 fee must be submitted to: Sullivan County Personnel, 100 North Street, PO Box 5012, Monticello, NY 12701.
     
  • Living Environment Teacher
    Requirements: NY State Certification in Biology 7-12. Knowledge of national/state standards, developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment.
     
  • Spanish Teacher
    Requirements: NY State Certification 7-12.
     
  • Library Media Specialist
    Requirements: NY State Certification. Familiarity with Information Literacy Strategies, Research Approaches and Instructional Technology Integration.

Middle School
The following position is effective March 2009:

  • French Teacher - Middle School 
    Requirements: NY State Certification grades 7-12.
     

  • English Teacher - Leave Replacement (March 16 - May 19, 2009)
    Requirements: NY State Certification grades 7-12.
     

  • Teacher Aide 1:1 - RJK Middle School
    10 month position, 6.5 hours per day inclusive of lunch. Individual will provide assistance to student. Responsibilities will be assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services. Elementary School
The following position is effective immediately:

  • Aide for Student with Physical Needs - Cooke Elementary School
    10 month position, 6.5 hours per day inclusive of lunch. Individual will provide assistance to student. Responsibilities will be assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services.   • Spanish Teacher - Duggan Elementary School
    Requirements: NY State Certification. Spanish Extension PreK-6 preferred.
     
  • Teacher Aide 1:1 - Cooke Elementary School
    Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
     
  • Teaching Assistant  - Rutherford Elementary School
    Requirements: NY State Teaching Assistant Certification.

Transportation Department positions   

The following positions are effective immediately:

  • 10 Month School Bus Driver 
    Requirements:
    Must be at least 21 years of age
    Must currently hold or be able to obtain a CDL class B with P and S endorsement
    Must be able to pass NYS and Federal Criminal History Investigation
    Must be able to pass Federal DOT Medical Examination
    Must be able to pass NYS Department of Education Physical Performance Test
    Will provide paid training for qualified candidates
     
  • 10 Month School Bus Attendant
    Requirements:
    Must be at least 21 years of age
    Current Fingerprint Clearance Certificate or be able to pass NYS Criminal History Investigation
    Must be able to pass NYS Department of Education Physical Performance Test
    Will provide paid training for qualified candidates
