School News Notifier (SNN) messaging system adds text message service
Residents of the Monticello
Central School District can sign-up to have text messages
sent to their cell phones to alert them about early dismissals,
inclement weather delays and other school emergencies. To add
the texting feature, a registered School News Notifier (SNN)
user just has to do update his/her profile with a cell phone
number and carrier.
Log into the School News Notifier (SNN) system
from the homepage of this web site - at the bottom of the SNN
page enter your e-mail address and password under “Returning
Users” – add the new cell phone information and click “Update.”
You can also update the selected notifications you would like to
receive while in your profile.
Since the recent SNN upgrade, specifications for passwords have
changed. This means if your password is less than six characters
or doesn’t fit the criteria of the new requirements, you may be
asked to change it.
Upgrades to this opt-in alert system are part of the district’s
ongoing efforts to improve student safety. Those who subscribe
to this free service should receive a text alert within minutes
after the Superintendent makes the decision to delay or close
schools. Families who do not have cell phones can
continue to have closure notices as well as district and
school news sent directly to their home and/or work computers.
Please note that the text messages will only be issued for
school closures or delays. If you want to continue to receive news and
information from the district or a particular school, it is
recommended that you continue to subscribe to the e-mail notices
as well.
