Dear student
athlete and parent/guardian:
I am excited to have you
become a part of the Monticello Central School’s Athletic
Program. I sincerely wish that your experience in our athletic
program is satisfying and rewarding. I feel that participation
in athletics is an important part of the education process as
athletic participation provides the opportunity for student
athletes to develop knowledge, skill, teamwork and a positive
attitude so that they may become productive, contributing
citizens of our community and society.
The main goal of the Monticello Interscholastic Athletic Program
is to provide an experience that is fun and promotes individual
growth within a safe and healthy environment. I hope that all
students will take advantage of the opportunities our programs
have to offer.
When your son/daughter chooses to participate in one of our
sports programs, I feel that they have committed themselves to
certain responsibilities and obligations. At the beginning of
each season, there will be a parent/ guardian/coaches meeting.
This enables you as a parent/guardian to discuss with the coach
his or her rules and expectations. This is a new and valuable
meeting established this year. I look forward to your presence
at this meeting.
RJK Middle School and Monticello High School are members of the
New York State Public High School Athletic Association. We are
affiliated with the Orange County League (OCL) and are in
Section 9 (Sullivan, Orange, Dutchess and Ulster Counties).
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Monticello
School District Athletic Program, please contact me at 794-8840

Sincerely,
Douglas E. Murphy
