Details about individual programs
The Monticello School District realizes that it cannot graduate
successful students without having professional, motivated, and
intelligent teachers to guide and teach. Therefore, the district
hade made it a priority to offer all teachers the opportunity for staff
development.
Programs offered last year included:
- Literacy
Collaborative, in partnership with Lesley College
- Literacy Collaborative training, led by staff trainer Susan
Gottlieb. The coordinator offers support to teachers on Superintendent
conference days, through study groups, biweekly classes, observations,
in-class demonstration lessons, and coaching. New teachers are trained
each year.
- New York State Reading Academy, an online course that provides
teachers with effective methods of reading instruction and techniques
to monitor student progress.
- Wilson Training
